=SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, Californians for Voter ID announces that it has gathered more than 500,000 signatures to qualify its Voter ID initiative for the ballot, just over one month after starting our signature gathering efforts.

This progress accounts for more than half of the 874,641 signatures legally required to qualify for the 2026 ballot and approaches half of Californians for Voter ID’s goal of collecting 1.2 million signatures.

”The amount of support we have received for our initiative is overwhelming. This strong early progress reflects both the skill of our professional partners and the deep support this issue has across our state,” Julie Luckey, Chairman of Californians for Voter ID, commented, “we are moving at a historic pace, and are on track to be one of the fastest-qualifying constitutional measures in state history.”

The remarkable momentum we’re witnessing clearly shows that the people of California are demanding secure and transparent elections, sending a strong and powerful message.
