Californians for Voter ID Raises $1.2 Million, Seeks to Bring Voter ID Proposal to Voters on the 2026 Ballot
07/09/2025
Today, Californians for Voter ID, the ballot measure committee seeking to place Voter ID on California’s ballot in 2026, announced it has raised over $1.2 million.
This significant fundraising total, raised even before the official petition language has been submitted, demonstrates strong voter support for enhancing security and transparency in California’s election system.
In February, Californians for Voter ID revealed that polling by Public Opinion Strategies showed 68% of California voters support requiring all voters to show a government-issued identification to vote. Polling conducted by UC Berkeley's IGS in late April also showed that 71% of California voters support requiring proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote.
“We are incredibly thankful for the tremendous support we've received throughout our state,” stated Julie Luckey, Chairman of Californians for Voter ID. “With the substantial resources we've already secured, and the strong support we’ve received from Californians across the state, we are poised to successfully qualify and pass Voter ID in 2026. Together, we can ensure that every vote is protected and every voice is heard!”
