Yes on 39 Campaign Launches Ad Buy

September 25, 2026

(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) – Today, the Yes on 39 committee launches the campaign’s first ad buy.
The statewide ad buy of more than $7.5 million over the next two weeks will run across multiple mediums on broadcast, cable, streaming and digital.

The ad features messages from real California voters talking about voter ID.

These Californians have lived in the state for five, 15, 26, 33 years, or are native residents. They are identified only by first name and length of time in the state to avoid harassment or retribution from politicians, lobbyists and insiders motivated to protect their power, ambition and money.

“We spoke with California voters who shared their own reasons for supporting Proposition 39. While the opposition campaign has focused on political insiders, politicians and those who benefit from the status quo, the Yes on Prop 39 campaign focuses on real California voters from all walks of life,” said Californians for Voter ID, Yes on 39 press secretary Meredith Shields. “We understand how powerful the politicians are; we’re just not sure they understand how powerful the people of California can be,” she continued.

The ad highlights a diverse group of California voters who believe it is time to restore trust in our elections, keep mail ballots and protect our democracy.
